- a natural way to heal yourself -
our story
Heidrun is a licensed Acupuncturist, certified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine. She holds a Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) from the New England School of Acupuncture and is a Diplomate of Acupuncture certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She has worked in such diverse settings as the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain, Cambridge Health Alliance in Malden and Element Care in Lynn, a care program for the elderly, and most recently in private practice.
After graduating from Universität Bielefeld, Germany with an MBA, Heidrun was working in corporate for over 15 years. In order to better balance her work and personal life, especially after her son was born, she discovered yoga and soon noticed its many health benefits - physically, emotionally and mentally. One style of yoga in particular stood out for her, a style that builds on the principles of Chinese Medicine and seeks to stimulate the flow of energy through the body's energy channels, or Meridians, to promote self-healing. This sent her on a lifelong path to study Chinese Medicine.
Heidrun firmly believes that our body has the innate ability to heal itself and that we can tap into this potential through the food we eat, through movement and mindfulness techniques as well as, of course, acupuncture.
Heidrun, a yoga instructor and former martial artist who also tries herself at running, cycling and swimming, is happy to share Qi Gong exercises and yoga movements with her patients looking for ways to incorporate therapeutic physical activity into their daily routines.
